bored to life

The cause of all things creative. And destructive. The need for the idle mind to turn into a devil’s workshop. The reason for the mind to reach the idle state in the first place. The reason why the ‘idyllic state’ is a myth. The purposelessness that leads to purpose. The getaway for the contended. The escape route out of satisfaction. The reason why satisfaction is not always a positive thing. The reason for growth. For restlessness. The momentum to lose inertia. The reason for change.

Boredom is not such a simple and inconsequential thing after all, is it? It’s the reason why babies are born, laws are created, political parties are formed, ambition is fired, friends are made, affairs are had, jobs are changed, fashion, architecture, philosophy, literature, and everything else out of the essential exists.

I think boredom is the best thing that ever happened to people. It’s the reason why people live and don’t exist. It’s the reason people don’t accept status quo. Why they’re not vegetables. It’s the reason I’m writing this and you’re reading this. Yeah, boredom is the mother of all invention.

If you’re bored enough, please comment.

gather

sometimes its words that cause the stir
sometimes action ruffles the fur
what do you do when there is two
to make tumult and daze come true

a little strawberry and lotsa wine
little sobriety, pain and time
make way for the invisible seed
to grow into an immortal weed

is it change or the thought of it
that recreates the tremor within
it's just one of those harmless quakes
that come and go without a trace

a little death a little theft
together fulfill and leave bereft
what a million words can try create
a moment's lapse can well negate

the word is strong the moment gone
there is no question right or wrong
there's only body, mind and soul
to join the pieces of the whole
